If you’re like us, you may still be feeling emotionally hung over from the election, and the holiday cheer isn’t exactly making you any cheerier. One way we at Stay Park City find comfort and joy at all times throughout the year is in our pets. Fortunately, Park City is wonderfully pet-friendly, which makes it easy to get your daily recommended dose of animal therapy.
As we head into the final stretch of 2016, we want to help reduce your stress by, not only helping you with your stay in Park City (with or without your pet), but also helping you find and get the pet therapy you need.
The Stay Park City team has put together a list of their favorite things to do with their pets, and have included photos for your immediate therapy needs. So whether you are looking for an outdoor adventure with your dog, the best place for a last minute grooming appointment, or wanting to enjoy a traditional horse-drawn sleigh ride, the Stay Park City team has got you covered this holiday season.
Staff Name and Title: Jason Linder, president
Pet Name: Stella and Roo
Breed/Type: Weimaraner
Favorite Activity/Hobbies: Hiking, staring at us constantly for endless petting and love
Favorite Treat(s): Hotdogs
Favorite Hike: Rob’s Trail. Many of the trails in Park City are great for dogs, as they can be off the leash, but that is being challenged and restricted more as the city grows.
Favorite Pet-Friendly Restaurant/Coffee Shop: Silver Star Café
Favorite Thing to do With Your Pet: Hike, run cuddle, and watch movies
Day-Care/Pet-Sitting/Walking Suggestions: Park City Pet Resort
Best Thing Your Pet Does for You/Your Family: They reminded us to get outside and play! Unfortunately, both just recently passed away from old age. We miss the reminders and happiness they provided.
Staff Name and Title: Kelley Kowalski, marketing manager
Pet Name: Basia (pronounced Bah-shuh)
Breed/Type: We think she’s a Chesapeake Bay Retriever mixed with a Heeler.
Age: ~4.5 months
Origin of Name: Polish. She’s not necessarily named after the ’90s singer Basia, but that is how the idea for the name came up.
Favorite Activity/Hobbies: Going for walks and pouncing into the bushes, furiously digging holes—even making burrows in blankets—to bury bones, and chewing on branches
Favorite Place to Buy Treats/Food: Petco
Favorite Hike: Along the creek that runs beside S.R. 224, near the famous McPolin Farm—or, as the locals call it—the White Barn.
Favorite Watering Hole: McCleod Creek
Favorite Thing About Your Pet: She’s very smart, but is also very sassy. When she’s asked to stop doing something that she knows she shouldn’t be doing, she glares and talks (read: barks) back. It’s not the best behavior, and we’re working on stopping it, but it is adorable.
Anything Else That You Can do in Park City With Your pet: Petco offers free puppy socialization classes every week, which is a great way to get them used to other dogs and people.

Favorite Watering Hole: The Koi pond in the back yard, even when I have to drag her away from it.
Favorite Pet-Friendly Restaurant/Coffee Shop: I wish there was a cat café in town.
Day-Care/Pet-Sitting/Walking Suggestions: By far the best person we know to take care of any animal is Amy the Critter Sitter. She has flexible times, will take the cutest videos and photos of your animal, and you can tell that she genuinely connects with your pet. I suggest everyone check her our.
Best Thing Your Pet Does for You/Your Family: She just brings us joy. We look forward to coming home to see her, we know we can always count on her to bring us a smile, and she’s always there to comfort us if we’re down.
